Peaceful Divorce in Tough Economic Times

We all know that the recession is deep and painful for millions of people. It happens that divorce is a discretionary expense like home improvements, that many people will simply defer or delay because of the current circumstances. There is not only the expense of the divorce itself, but then there is the resulting two households to support.

People really don't know....

So many potential mediation clients express amazement when I tell them that they don't have to get attorneys to get divorced. It seems like people really don't know that they can do mediation, avoid the battle completely, and start moving on with their lives. Somehow, we just aren't getting the word out about this. The public perception is that you have to get attorneys even if you don't want to fight, and even if you have nothing to fight over. People just aren't aware of the possibility of… Continue

hi there -

nice to hear from you.........yes, i am a 'holistic" child psychologist. i even run the holistic moms chapter of palm beach..started the one in broward.....when i work with kids, i focus on their mind-body-spirit...initally when families seek me out it is either for mind or spirit issues (divorce related mood/behavioral problems)........i address those in the ways that you and i both would.........then i get into the more physical issues......like nutrition because of the strong connection between food and mood...food and behavior.....talk about neuro nutrition.....and also, if families are interested, a greener home.......and of course, more holistic parenting issues.......thats kind of it in a nutshell...would be happy to talk more..........thanks for connecting.

Hi Kenneth, parenting after divorce, for me, is all about redefining one's values really. In my marriage, for instance, their father was not involved and because he was a "man-child" I often neglected my children over my husband. After my divorce it was a wake up call for me that I brought these children into this world and I had to make sure that I attended to their needs. They had to come first of course! I have such a better relationship with them now and they are reassured that they are safe and cared for, which is normal. I disagree with the concept that one should put their relationship first and then the children, because if two parents are emotionally intelligent they don't have to come first over their children, they will parent together responsibly and it's not either then about putting children first. The children will be harmoniously integrated in the family life. As for after divorce it is essential that parents come to this awareness that children are not toys to play with but real people whom we have a responsibility to care for, no matter the circumstances. Do I make sense? Nadia

I did est as a young woman and have led a life I would not have otherwise had. Out of that training I got at an early age that I can manifest anything out of pure intention (thus the 100% success rate with over 200 couples). Everything I am is related to est which became Landmark. I did the curriculum for living about 5 years ago and out of that I walked away from my adversarial practice and have done nothing but mediation since that time. If I ever have a chance to thank Warner Erhard for creating est, I will!!!!!
