Peaceful Divorce

I would love to hear other’s advice on how to help someone who is totally on board with the concept of a peaceful divorce and collaborative law BUT their soon-to-be ex is the one who has hired an attack attorney, is engaged in battle and badmouthing, and is out for blood. I know that counseling people to not fight fire with fire is helpful, but how does it really translate into the courtroom? Can anyone offer their experiences on how to counsel clients to defend themselves but nonreactively and peacefully? I would love some ideas!
